A Story of Hope
Joan is a student at Mitangoni Center who has shown a quiet determination to learn and grow. Her family has faced financial challenges, and her mother has worked hard to care for her children with limited resources.
When MOHI staff first connected with the family, they shared about the school and the support available through Christian education, daily meals, spiritual care, and health services. Joan’s mother chose to enroll several of her children, hoping education would help open new opportunities for them.
In her early years at school, Joan struggled with reading and was unsure of her abilities. Her teachers noticed her potential and spent time helping her in subjects that once felt difficult. Gradually, Joan began to grow in confidence and improve in her studies.
Today, Joan expresses herself more confidently in English and continues to grow as a student leader. Through spiritual and mentorship programs, she has also learned more about God’s love and the strength that comes from faith. She now helps lead morning devotions, which has encouraged her confidence even more.
Joan dreams of excelling in her studies, supporting her family, and encouraging other children in her community to keep pursuing education. Her growth is still unfolding, and we thank God for the ways she continues to move forward.
A different name has been used to honor privacy.
