Community Update - Term 2, 2025
Greetings from Mitangoni!
Greetings from Mitangoni Center. God has been so faithful, and He has enabled us to achieve a lot during this term. We would like to share with you some of the term's highlights.

Head Teacher, Mitangoni.
Hope Transforms: A Success Story
Rajab* is a 5-year-old student in preschool at our school. He comes from a single-parent family with three siblings, and they live in Mitangoni. As a single mom, his mother supports the family through inconsistent casual jobs, doing her best to make ends meet.
When Rajab was first identified for enrollment, his mother was hesitant. She wasn’t convinced of the value of education and was reluctant to send him to school. However, after several visits and encouragement from a MOHI social worker, she agreed to give it a try.
Rajab’s mother is now excited to be a parent in MOHI for many reasons. Her son receives a strong foundation through academics, spiritual development, and regular meals through the MOHI feeding program. Although Rajab’s family is Muslim, he joyfully participates in school devotions and Bible activities. His mother is also grateful for the personal care and support from the MOHI team. She appreciates the home visits from our social worker and a pastor, who prays with her and shares the love of Christ.
Rajab’s mother appreciates the work MOHI is doing in her community and prays that God will continue to bless both the organization and its efforts there.

Term Highlights
- Our primary and junior high school students actively participated in ball games this term, showcasing great sportsmanship and teamwork. We’re especially proud of our junior high school girls’ volleyball team because they topped the entire area!
- Our Environmental Club took advantage of the rainy season and planted trees around the school compound. The young trees are thriving, now safely protected from both animals and people.
Church Highlights
- During the term, we reached out to a total of 300 people. Forty of those received Christ.
- We had a powerful synergy Sunday service (a service that brings the staff, students and community members together).
- We held an Ignite service where 52 students attended, and 20 of them rededicated their lives to Christ.
- We are proud of our students: two Grade 8 students are now Sunday school teachers, and two others are serving on the technical team (PA system setup).
Partner Connections
- In partnership with a team called Disciple Makers, we hosted a VBS for 447 students. The students learned more about God through songs, games, and dancing. As an added blessing, both our junior high school and two of our parents received sewing machines to support their livelihoods.
- We hosted a medical team from Christ’s Church of the Valley for a two-day health camp, during which 197 students and 10 staff members received medical care.
Prayer Requests
- Thank God with us for the adequate rainfall that the community has experienced.
- Pray for the sponsorship of all our unsponsored students.
- Pray for continued good health among our students, their families and staff members.
