Hope Transforms: A Success Story
Nancy* is a bright 12-year-old girl from Missions of Hope Mitangoni Center. She is the oldest of two children, with a younger sibling who is 3 years old. They live with their mother, who is a widow. She works as a casual laborer to support her family.
Nancy joined MOHI in Grade 2, and she is now in Grade 6. She appreciates MOHI, which she describes as a safe place for her to grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
One of the things Nancy appreciates most is the daily school meals. She is happy that she can receive both breakfast and lunch at school. At her previous school, she often had to go home for lunch, unsure whether there would be anything to eat.
Nancy is an all-around student; she is part of the school’s scout team, music team, athletics, as well as volleyball team. She is happy that MOHI has provided opportunities for her and other students to realize their potential. She is one of the top students in her class, which brings her great joy as she works toward her dream of becoming an accountant.
Nancy has also grown spiritually through programs such as guidance and counseling, and mentorship. She admits that the school's morning devotions have helped grow her faith. Above all, Nancy rejoices in the staff who take time to follow up with students like her to ensure they attend church services. These programs have helped her to deepen her faith and develop a strong relationship with God.
Nancy feels loved and cared for, which she was not experiencing at her former school. She is thankful to MOHI, and her prayer is that God will bless MOHI for the love, care and support they give to her and so many other students.

Term Highlights
- Our Grade 5 students had a wonderful experience attending Angaza Discovery Camp, (a two-week intensive discipleship camp at the Kenyan coast for all MOHI’s sixth graders), where they learned more about God’s creation and grew in faith.
- We celebrate our 25 Grade 6 students who gave their lives to Christ this term. They completed discipleship classes and were baptized, marking a beautiful step in their spiritual journey.
- We successfully held a joyful graduation ceremony for 60 kindergarten students, celebrating their growth and readiness to move on to Grade 1.
Church Highlights
- This term, we reached out to 300 people through our outreach programs, sharing the message of hope in Christ.
- We celebrate 25 people who were baptized. Also, 40 individuals received Christ and began their journey of faith. We are currently taking them through discipleship classes.
- We held a “Farming God’s Way” training at the center. The training, which seeks to raise Christian farmers, was attended by 20 students. Together, they planted a nursery bed with spinach and collard greens.
- We held a vibrant street worship event in a nearby town, bringing the community together in praise.
- We held a Synergy Sunday service (a joint worship service that brings together MOHI staff, local churches, community members, and students), fostering unity and fellowship among them.
Partner Connections
- A MOHI Vision Team from Pella Communities (Glendale, AZ), visited us. They enjoyed time together with students and staff.
- A team from Central Christian Church conducted two home visits. The families they visited were deeply encouraged and impressed by their care and interaction.
- The Christ’s Church of the Valley (Peoria, AZ) team led a powerful two-day program that included Vacation Bible School (VBS), leadership training for 30 staff members, an engineering class for 72 junior school students, and self-defense training for 30 staff members.
Prayer Requests
- Thank God with us for the successful drilling of a borehole, which will provide clean and reliable water for our school and community.
- Pray with us as we trust God for our students who are still waiting for sponsors.
- Join us in praying for students experiencing spiritual challenges, that they may find freedom, peace, and strength through Christ.
