Hope Transforms: A Success Story
Asha* is a 12-year-old girl in Grade 6 at Missions of Hope Mitangoni Center. She joined MOHI in 2021 when she was in Grade 2. She was excited to join MOHI because the school has a conducive learning environment. Her teachers are friendly and always willing to help her become a well-performing student. As a result, there has been a great improvement in her academics.
The school is only a few miles from her home, making it easily accessible. She has also benefited from the school’s feeding program. In her former school, lunch was not provided, and one had to walk a long distance to buy food. Most times, her parents did not have the money to cater for her lunch, meaning she would go hungry the entire day.
Asha is not just a great student but also an athlete. She is a very talented girl, active in sports, particularly athletics, which was nurtured in MOHI.
Through devotion, she came to learn about Jesus and soon became a Christian, believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her mother has also joined her in believing in Jesus Chris, and that is their new way of life. Asha has learned how to pray and feels closer to God now than ever. When she began going to church, she was eager to learn how to pray and sing worship songs. Now, she is very active in that and even leads others in reading the Bible during devotion.
She is happy that MOHI’s social worker often visits her family. During those visits, they usually catch up and pray together. The MOHI pastor has also been visiting her family, supporting them through Bible study and prayer. Asha appreciates the work MOHI is doing in her community and prays that God will bless MOHI.
