Hope Transforms: A Success Story
Pearl*, works with Missions of Hope Madoya Center as a janitor. She is a single mother of four children.
Pearl’s children started school at our Area 2 Center when she moved her family to Nairobi after she and her husband separated. Pearl’s spirit was broken after the divorce. She found it difficult to take care of her four children on her own and in a new city. Her husband at this time had already remarried and his focus was on his new family leaving Pearl with no one to support her while she raised their four children. She remembers how desperate she felt. She was told about MOHI from a community member and she applied for a janitor position. She was soon offered a position at our Madoya Center.
When she got the job, and her children were enrolled at our Area 2 Center, it was an answered prayer. She now had all she needed to take care of her four children on her own. All the children have now finished primary school through MOHI. They performed exceptionally well in their exit tests. Pearl’s oldest daughter just graduated from high school and is now waiting to join college. The other three younger children are all in high school with MOHI.
Looking back, Pearl counts her blessings since meeting Missions of Hope International and how God has been faithful to her and the children. She admits that she couldn't imagine bringing up her children without Missions of Hope International.
