Hope Transforms: A Success Story

Rose* comes from a humble background. She is a mother of three children who are all enrolled at Missions of Hope International (MOHI). Life hasn't been easy for Rose—after separating from her husband in 2016, she found herself raising her children alone, struggling to make ends meet. Providing daily meals for her children was especially difficult.

MOHI’s feeding program became a lifeline for her family. Knowing that her children would receive meals at school lifted a huge burden off her shoulders and gave her space to begin rebuilding her life.

During that difficult season, Rose met a MOHI social worker who walked alongside her, offering both encouragement and the hope of Christ. As a result, Rose began attending church and, in 2019, gave her life to Christ. Her faith became a source of strength that helped her face life’s challenges with renewed hope.

With support from the MOHI team, Rose started selling porridge to motorbike riders and passersby—her first step toward financial independence. Later, she applied for a job at a local organization as an assistant community health worker. After a successful interview, she was hired to serve the Mabatini community.

Today, Rose’s life looks very different. She can now provide for her children, put food on the table, and they live in a clean, comfortable home. Though she acknowledges that raising boys without a father figure is not easy, she does it with determination, joy, and gratitude.

Rose is deeply thankful to MOHI for stepping into her life during her most desperate moments. She’s even more grateful to God for how far He has brought her. Her children are thriving in school, and she continues to move forward with faith and purpose.

Her favorite Bible verse—Psalm 120:1—sums up her journey beautifully: “In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and He heard me.”
