Hope Transforms: A Success Story
*Jude is a 15-year-old boy from the Mathare community. He lives with both of his parents, who are casual laborers within the city. Together with his twin sister, they started their education at the MOHI Kosovo Center. Their younger sister joined them later.
In his early years, Jude was a model student; bright, disciplined and respectful. As he transitioned to upper primary, his behavior and performance changed. He became undisciplined, started skipping classes, and disappeared from home for weeks. He joined bad company in the community and started living on the streets with his friends. His parents were worried to their core, uncertain of his future.
MOHI’s team did not give up on him. Through constant follow-ups from our social worker and counselling from teachers and pastors, Jude slowly began to change. It was a gradual change, but a promising one.
Today, Jude is transformed. He attends his grade 8 class daily, completes his class assignments, and does his homework faithfully. He has also rebuilt his relationship with his peers and teachers. In addition, unlike before, he comes to school in a clean and neat uniform. He is also an active church member, playing the drum set during church services. Their family attends a local church where his father is the pastor. Jude steps up as the firstborn, ensuring that his siblings attend church every Sunday and are active in the Sunday school program.
Had his parents and teachers given up on him, his story would have been different. Glory to God.

Term Highlights
- Our music team participated in the Kenya Music Festival up to the regional level. They secured third position in one of the items presented.
- Our students participated in the local ball games competitions. They really enjoyed competing with others.
- MOHI’s health team led a successful health and nutrition screening of our students in preschool.
Church Highlights
- Through this term’s evangelism efforts, we were able to reach 360 people, and 71 of them made the decision to follow Christ. In addition, 30 students gave their lives to Christ through school-based spiritual programs. We also celebrate with four parents who came to faith and are now actively attending church.
- Teachers from other OHC Churches were trained in Kosovo and issued certificates and materials for their use.
- We completed the post-Angaza Discovery Camp new believers class for Grade 6 and are awaiting baptism in the month of September 2025.
- We initiated the New Creation Program, designed for junior high school students who had previously attended Angaza Discovery Camp, as well as pre-Angaza Grade 5 students. This program provides extensive discipleship, integrating MOHI Core Values in accordance with the Bible.
Partner Connections
- We were excited to have a team from LifeSpring Christian Church, who trained our Grade 5 to 9 students on first aid skills. They also took our Grades 1 to 4 students through a VBS and shared a special lunch with staff.
- We were blessed to have our teachers and school leaders trained on classroom implementation strategies by MOHI partners, the Youngs. This has helped teachers engage students better during lessons.
- We thank God for the Eastside Christian Church team, who applied fluoride to all our students and gave them toothbrushes.
Prayer Requests
- Pray for more students to be sponsored.
- Pray for our students, staff, and community for God's provision, protection, and good health.
- Pray for the success of our Grade 6 and 9 students as they sit for their important national tests.
