A Story of Hope
Janet is a young student who joined MOHI’s Korogocho Grogan Center during her early school years. Her family was walking through a difficult season with limited income and health-related challenges at home. These pressures affected daily routines, and Janet often came to school needing extra care and support.
Her teachers noticed that she was struggling with confidence, communication, and early learning skills. Social workers and teachers visited the family, listened to their situation, and began walking alongside Janet and her mother with counseling, encouragement, and practical guidance. Community health workers also offered support related to nutrition and family well-being.
Over time, Janet’s mother began taking steps toward greater stability for the household. At school, teachers continued giving Janet patient support, including encouragement with her classwork and care during the school day.
Janet is making steady progress. She is more confident, expresses herself more clearly, and is growing in basic reading and classroom participation. Her family still needs prayer and support, but they are continuing to move forward one step at a time.
