Hope Transforms: A Success Story
Cynthia is a staff member at the Kibarani Center. She is mother of twelve children, four of whom are adults, and eight attend MOHI schools.
Before Missions of Hope International came to the Kibarani community, Cynthia faced many challenges. She was experiencing marital problems and financial hardship, this gave her great despair. Despite her difficulties, she worked tirelessly to provide for her children by selling firewood and fish.
Cynthia has two sets of twins when she underwent her second surgery to give birth to her second set of twins her husband left her, causing her emotional distress. As a result, the stress of taking care of eight children on her own took a toll on Cynthia and her children and she frequently visited the hospital due to their poor health, which became a significant financial burden.
When she joined MOHI, she found a community that would stand with her in prayer. She and her colleagues would pray for the restoration of her family. God answered her prayers and her husband returned home. Not only did he come back but also supported her and they are now working together to raise their children. With her job at MOHI, she now has medical insurance and access to the school nurse, reducing the need for frequent hospital visits. Her children have access to medical care when they need it and it has made a big difference in their health.
Cynthia has been a Christian for many years and is an active member of Trinity Chapel, MOHI’s church plant in Kibarani. She is grateful for the love and support of her family and community, as well as the opportunities provided by MOHI. She is hopeful for a bright future for her children and thankful to God for bringing MOHI to her community.
