Greetings from Kibarani!

Greetings from Missions of Hope Kibarani Center! We are grateful to God for the wonderful start to term 1 of 2024. The year is off to a great beginning, and we want to express our gratitude for the ongoing support and guidance you provide us with. All glory to the Almighty God!

Flood Update:

Since this Community Update was written before the extreme rain and flooding took place in Kenya, we want to provide a quick update.

Despite the heavy rains, we are thankful to report that neither our center nor the students we serve were directly affected. We did not experience the flooding that other areas were subject to.

If you'd like to donate to MOHI's flood relief efforts, you can donate here.

Hope Transforms: A Success Story

Lynn* is a 12-year-old girl attending Missions of Hope Center Kibarani, where she's currently in Grade 3. She comes from a family of four children, with Lynn being the youngest and the only daughter. Her father left the family and remarried, leaving Lynn and her three brothers under the care of their mother in the village, more than four years ago.

In 2022, Lynn's life took a turn when a social worker from Missions of Hope International visited their home. Lynn had been out of school for a year due to unpaid fees at her previous local primary school. Her mother, though feeling hopeless as she watched her children drop out of school one by one, was unable to afford the expenses. Our social worker intervened and recruited Lynn to join Missions of Hope International.

Encouraged by the social worker, Lynn's mother began seeking casual work to provide for her children. Since then, she has been tirelessly working to support her family.

Now, Lynn is thriving at Missions of Hope International, experiencing spiritual growth and enjoying her education. With newfound hope and determination, Lynn dreams of one day becoming a teacher, a goal she is actively pursuing with the support of her school and sponsors.
