Greetings from Shambini!

Receive greetings from the Shambhini Center. As we close another school term, we are grateful for the growth we have seen among our students and in the wider school community. Thank you for walking alongside us in prayer and partnership as we participate in what God is doing through the love of Christ.

School Highlights

  • Students took part in an inter-class ball games competition. After competing with one another, the winning students played against the staff team. The activities helped students enjoy healthy competition, develop their talents, and build physical fitness.
  • A MOHI ministry partner led Farming God’s Way training for parents, students, and staff. Through this training, the school is now growing collard greens, and some parents are applying what they learned in their homes.
  • The Spiritual Development Department visited the school and engaged students through Bible stories, songs, memory verses, and interactive activities. These moments helped students grow in their understanding of God’s Word.

A Story of Hope

Ruth is an upper-primary student who joined the Shambini Center with her brothers. When she first arrived, she struggled to feel comfortable in the classroom and often kept to herself. She was self-conscious around other students, and this made it difficult for her to build friendships or stay focused in class.

Her teacher and the school social worker noticed her quietness and began walking alongside her with encouragement and care. They also spent time with her family to better understand how Ruth and her brothers could be supported at school and at home. Over time, her parents became more engaged in the children’s well-being, and Ruth began to experience a stronger sense of support.

As Ruth settled into school, her confidence began to grow. She started participating more fully in class and school activities. Today, she is committed to her studies, has improved academically, and is using her leadership gifts as a captain on the girls’ school team and as a scout leader.

Ruth now enjoys being with her friends and is happy to come to school. She loves singing and continues to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. We are grateful to God for the growth taking shape in her life and family.
