Greetings from Lochoredome!

School Highlights

  • We held a dedication ceremony for the Lochoredome Health Clinic. The clinic is an important resource for students, staff, and community members, especially because the nearest health facility is more than 20 miles away.
  • We held a groundbreaking ceremony for the dormitories at the center. Once built, the dormitories will provide additional boarding space for students who currently walk long distances to school.
  • Our students participated in track and field competitions this term, and one student advanced to the regional level.
  • Students participated in an Awana program, a Christian youth ministry program that helps children grow in biblical faith. They also had opportunities to share their talents.
  • Students and staff participated in the Ignite program under the theme “Being Rooted in Christ.”

Church Highlights

  • We held a baptism service where 44 believers, including students, staff, and a community member, publicly declared their faith in Christ.
  • Through community outreach and evangelism, church members conducted door-to-door visits and reached more than 200 people.
  • This term, the church focused on intentional discipleship under the theme “Jesus: His Story, Our Hope.” This included baptism classes for students who attended Angaza Discovery Camp, strengthened Christian Union and PPI programs, and personal follow-up with students.

Together in Ministry

  • A team from Eastside Christian Church visited the center, conducted health screenings for preschool students, and met with parents to share guidance on caring for children experiencing malnutrition.
  • A ministry partner and team visited the center. Together, we officially launched and dedicated the Lochoredome Health Clinic and held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new school dormitory.

A Story of Hope

Esther is a student from the Lochoredome community whose family works hard to provide for their children. Like many children in the area, she has faced challenges related to distance, language, and limited resources.

When Esther first began school, learning was difficult because she was still gaining confidence in the language used in class. At times, she became frustrated, but her teachers continued to encourage her and help her keep trying.

Over time, Esther began asking for help, focusing more in class, and improving in her studies. She has grown into one of the stronger students in her class, especially in subjects such as science and mathematics.

Through counseling, mentorship, and church involvement, Esther has also grown in how she relates to others. She attends Sunday school, shares Bible verses with friends, and encourages other students in their learning.

Esther dreams of becoming a doctor so she can serve children and families in her community. She continues to study hard, help at home, and move forward with hope for the future.

A different name has been used to honor privacy.
