A Story of Hope

Anne is a young student whose family experienced a difficult season when her father became ill and lost his job. Her mother worked hard to provide for the family, but the financial strain made it difficult for the children to attend school consistently. For a time, Anne remained at home while the family tried to meet school requirements.

MOHI social workers learned about the family’s situation and spoke with Anne’s parents about enrolling her at MOHI’s Korogocho B Center. Her mother also joined an economic empowerment program where community members learn to save and access microfinance opportunities. Along the way, the family began to experience more support, and Anne’s father recovered from his illness.

At school, Anne received encouragement, counseling, and academic support from teachers and social workers. Over time, she began to regain confidence and focus on her studies. She is now growing as a committed student who participates in both academics and school activities.

Anne continues to dream of becoming a doctor. Her family is still trusting God for stable work and provision, but they are moving forward with hope and gratitude for the support surrounding them.

A different name has been used to honor privacy.
