Hope Transforms: A Success Story

*Eli is a ninth-grade student at our Center. He joined the school in 2015 as a young orphan with no stable place to call home. After losing both parents at an early age, Eli moved between relatives and neighbors, relying on their kindness for food and shelter.

Before MOHI came to this community, Eli never imagined that he would ever go to school. With no one to provide basic needs like regular meals, books, or even uniforms, education seemed impossible. But when MOHI opened its doors in his community, Eli took a leap of faith and enrolled, despite having no support system.

Life at school was not easy. Eli struggled greatly, having to walk for miles to attend school. Often, he showed up unkempt, hungry, and emotionally weighed down. But he remained determined and committed to learning. When our social worker dug deeper and learned about his struggles, Eli began receiving extra help. He joined a group of students who live within the school compound, received meals from the school feeding program, guidance from teachers, and emotional support. Slowly, his life began to take shape.

Now in Grade 9, Eli continues to thrive. His tenacity inspires those around him, and he holds onto the belief that God is the father to the fatherless. Today, Eli is full of hope, focused on his studies, and dreaming of a brighter future.
