Hope Transforms: A Success Story
In 2015 Kimberly was set to finish her primary school education. However, she dropped out of school that same year during her last term when she became pregnant. After giving birth, her mother agreed to care for her child while Kimberly sought work to support her siblings, mother, and child. She worked as a casual laborer in various settings, including events, hotels, and homes. For seven years, she worked as a casual laborer, five of which were spent as a domestic worker.
One day, Kimberly heard a friend mention Missions Of Hope International (MOHI). Inspired by the opportunity to return to school, she began working towards enrolling. She gathered the courage to visit the center and request admission. The principal, recognizing her determination, granted her admission. Kimberly joined in Grade 10 in 2022. Despite her age, she remained focused and determined to complete her education.
Kimberly proved to be a reliable and responsible student, earning the admiration of her peers. When she was in Grade 11, she was elected dorm captain, serving with commitment and dedication. She also excelled in sports, competing at the national level in discus, shot put, high jump, javelin, and girls' soccer.
We praise God that Kimberly is among the 103 candidates sitting for the national tests that will give her a high school diploma and be a stepping stone to the next phase of her life.
We truly thank God for the transformation Kimberly has undergone and the opportunity to pursue her education.

Term Highlights
- This term, 100 girls gave their lives to Christ during one of our spiritual programs. We thank God for our new believers. We also had a time of prayer and fasting where some of our staff members and students went for a prayer and fasting retreat.
- The school worked well towards academic goals across all grades. Among the many academic programs included academic clinics, career talks for our ninth graders, and academic improvement plan meetings.
- We participated in many sporting events this term. Our students took part in interclass sports competitions. Our staff soccer team had a friendly match with the community. MOHI also had a staff soccer tournament where different staff members from around Nairobi, Joska, and Ndovoini centers competed against each other.
Partner Connections
- We were glad to have MOHI's longtime partner Jill Shuck visit our MOHI Technical Training Institute (MTTI) at Joska Center. She conducted baking classes with MTTI catering students. This was beneficial to the catering students as they learned more baking skills.
- Africa Fire Mission visited us. The team conducted a fire safety assessment and evacuation drill for all center staff and students. This drill was very impactful for both students and staff, who gained valuable knowledge and skills on how to respond in the event of a fire.
- The Christ’s Church of the Valley Medical team visited and conducted a medical camp for the community and students. The team performed eye exams, and general physical examinations, and provided treatment. They also offered health and nutritional advice to the attendees.
Prayer Requests
- Please pray for all of our students as they strive to break the cycle of poverty in their homes. May God grant them the strength and courage to achieve their goals and make a positive impact in their lives and communities.
- Please pray for our MOHI partners who have consistently supported our MOHI projects. May God bless them with abundant resources, bless their families, and grant them long life and good health.
