Hope Transforms: A Success Story

The arrival of Missions of Hope International (MOHI) at Nyeri has sparked real transformation within the community. One powerful example is Laura*, a joyful and grateful parent at our center. Laura is Leah’s* mother, a fifth-grade student at our school. Laura shares how MOHI has not only changed her daughter’s life but also brought hope and stability to their entire family.

Before MOHI, life was incredibly difficult. Laura had no steady income, and providing even one meal a day was a challenge. She could not afford the high tuition fees at nearby schools, and her daughter’s future felt uncertain. But everything changed when Leah was enrolled at the Missions of Hope Nyeri Center. Now, she receives a quality Christian education, regular nutritious meals, and medical care through the school. With her basic needs met, Leah attends school consistently, thriving in her studies. She has become one of the most respectful and disciplined students, thanks in part to the spiritual foundation she is receiving.

Laura, too, has not been left out. She joined a women’s growth group where she learned how to save and manage finances. Through this support, she’s been able to improve her family’s well-being and now works as a waitress. The “healthy homes” training offered by MOHI has helped her foster better hygiene and wellness practices in her household. Her whole family now attends church regularly, and she’s committed to supporting Leah as she pursues her dreams. Laura’s story is a beautiful testimony of how God is using MOHI to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity in families like hers.
