Greetings! I am pleased to share some highlights with you from the first term of this year. Your support and partnership are invaluable as we work together to bring hope and transformation to our community through education.

Flood Update:

Since this Community Update was written before the extreme rain and flooding took place in Kenya, we want to provide a quick update.

Despite the heavy rains, we are thankful to report that neither our center nor the students we serve were directly affected. We did not experience the flooding that other areas were subject to.

Hope Transforms: A Success Story

Jill*, a distinguished alumna of Napusimoru School, completed her Grade 8 education in 2018. Subsequently, she pursued secondary education at Missions of Hope Turkana High School, graduating in 2022. However, Jill's journey didn't end with her academic achievements.

Recognizing the educational challenges faced by children in her locality, especially due to the long distance to the nearest school, motivated by a deep sense of purpose and a commitment to community transformation, Jill initiated a remarkable project after completing her studies. 

With unwavering dedication, Jill mobilized children in her community who lacked access to education. She would tutor children in the community until they were ready to enroll at Napusimoru School. Despite receiving no compensation for her efforts, Jill tirelessly dedicated herself to this cause, embodying the true spirit of service and compassion. Once the children started school they had already learned essentials that helped them get settled into class and school better.

Jill's story exemplifies the transformative power of hope. Through her actions, she not only empowers individuals but also ignites a ripple effect of positive change within her community. In Jill's hands, hope becomes a catalyst for enduring transformation, illuminating the path to a brighter future for generations to come.

Term Highlights

• Plans for installing electric power in our community are underway, and we are grateful for the proposed renovation of the buildings in our school.
  
  
• The feeding program has contributed to the good health of most of our students, addressing malnutrition concerns effectively.

Prayer Requests

• Please pray for the families we serve to experience economic empowerment, enabling them to meet their family expenses with ease.
  
  
• Pray for the families affected by the floods. May God provide for them and meet them at their point of need.
