Bishop Dan KOgembo
Community Update - Term 3, 2024Greetings from Bishop Dan K'Ogembo!
We thank the Almighty God for life and the opportunity to serve the Nyakach community this term. He has given us many reasons to be grateful. The last term of the year has come to a close and we would also like to thank you for your support and partnership this year. Through you, we have been able to show the people of Nyakach the love of Jesus. Here are some of the highlights of this term.
Duncan Oundo Osudi,
Head Teacher, Bishop Dan K'Ogembo.
Hope Transforms: A Success Story
Jon* is a staff member at Bishop Dan K’Ogembo Center where he has been working for the last one and a half years. He joined us in early 2023 as a cook. Jon is married and has been blessed with eight children, two girls and six boys. As a parent, Jon struggled to meet his family's needs. Although he used to do casual jobs to meet his family's needs, it was insufficient. At times, he would be called upon for casual jobs at our center whenever an opportunity arose.
In early March 2023, there was a vacancy in our kitchen department. Jon was in need of the job, and since he had worked with MOHI before, Jon was asked to join the team.
With his new position, Jon is now available for his family, unlike before. He can support his family better than before as well.
Jon has also grown spiritually. He has dedicated his life to God; he can now preach to his fellow staff members and even to our children during morning parades. His relationships with the community have also improved significantly. He gets along much better with people and is always willing to help.
Jon has become a vital member of our team at MOHI. He takes pride in his work and does it with enthusiasm. We are so glad to be a part of his transformation. We thank God for Jon and his family and for what God is doing in his life.

Term Highlights
- Our students in Grades 4 and 7 participated in MOHI’s inter-school spelling bee and public speaking competition at our Coram Deo Center in Molo. This was a great experience for our students who got a chance to travel to Molo for the first time. The event boosted their self-confidence and sharpened their skills.
- We had our first Board of Management meeting this term. This team consists of school administration, staff, and community members. They came together to discuss various matters that affect our students and staff. It was a great time bringing MOHI and the community together, giving us better insight into how to serve the community better.
- We held our annual school Christmas party. As our students break for the long holiday, we treated them to a special meal and lots of fun to see them off. We already can’t wait to see them again in the new year.
Prayer Requests
- Pray for the Nyakach community, especially our male parents. Pray that God gives them the grace to be abundant fathers and role models for the younger men.
- Pray for the financial breakthrough of our parents as they strive to make ends meet for their families and children.
- Pray for the safety of our students as they spend time away from school during this school break.
