Francis is a seventh-grader at Missions of Hope Kiwandani Center. Francis wasn't always sure he belonged. Francis initially felt conflicted and unsure of his place and his religion.
"When I first met a social worker from Missions of Hope," Francis recalls, "he explained that it was a Christian school. I wasn't sure if it was the right fit for me."
However, the social worker's kindness and the school's welcoming atmosphere persuaded Francis to give it a try. While he struggled with attending morning devotion at first, preferring to sleep on his desk during devotion, his perspective gradually began to shift.
A turning point came when Francis attended Angaza Discovery Camp. The camp counselors' warm reception and genuine interest in the students made him feel valued and loved. Through engaging activities, mentorship, and discussions about Jesus, Francis began to reconsider his beliefs.
"The things the social worker had told me about Jesus started to make sense," Francis admitted. "I began to reflect on my choices and who I wanted to be."

It was at Angaza that Francis made a life-altering decision to accept Jesus. His transformation surprised everyone, including himself. He actively participated in songs, devotions, and group discussions, a far cry from the hesitant student he once was.
Returning from camp, Francis's newfound faith became evident in his actions. He eagerly arrived early to church to help set up and prepare for services, a testament to his newfound devotion.
Francis's story is one of open-mindedness, personal growth, and the transformative power of acceptance and faith. Through the ministry of MOHI's Angaza Discovery Camp and the ongoing support of Missions of Hope International, Francis has found a place where he belongs and a faith that resonates with his heart.
