Greetings from Olturot!

Receive warm greetings from Olturot Center. We hope you are doing well. God has seen us through the term, and we are grateful to share a few highlights with you. Thank you for your support and prayers throughout the term.

Head Teacher, Olturot Center

  • Our students took part in track and field games this term. Six students advanced to the county level, where they will compete with students from other areas.
  • We hosted a team that taught community members about saving and helped register member groups with MOHI’s microloan services.
  • We conducted a Board of Management meeting, which brought together parent representatives and teachers to discuss important plans for the term.

Jude grew up in a community where many children spend their days helping with livestock and where formal schooling can feel unfamiliar at first. Before enrolling at Olturot Center, he had not attended school, and the idea of sitting in a classroom felt far from the life he knew.

During a community visit, a MOHI social worker began building a relationship with Jude and his family. At first, Jude was unsure about school, but through patient follow-up and encouragement, trust began to grow. Eventually, he agreed to attend school and began a new season of learning.

The transition was not easy. Classroom routines were unfamiliar, and his mother also needed encouragement as she learned how to support her children’s education. MOHI staff continued walking alongside the family through guidance and practical support.

Over time, Jude began to settle into school. He is now a joyful and active student who enjoys playing with his peers. He also attends church regularly and participates in worship. His growth is still unfolding, but he is moving forward with a stronger sense of belonging and purpose.

A different name has been used to honor privacy.

  • Pray for God’s provision for parents in this community as they support their children.
  • Pray for spiritual growth within the community we serve.
  • Pray for continued sponsorship for students who are not yet sponsored.

As you read about how God is working, please consider sending a message of encouragement to your sponsored child through the MOHI mobile app or through your online sponsor account. Your words can remind them that someone is praying for them, cheering them on, and grateful to be part of their journey.
