Greetings from Nyeri!

Hello and praise the Lord! We are grateful to God for a successful term at Nyeri Center. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are glad to share a few highlights from this term with you.

  • Our students participated in track and field events this term. For the first time, they also took part in a swimming competition, where two students earned second place. We are proud of their effort and achievement.
  • We were grateful to move into our new school building during the term. The building has provided needed classroom space and helped create a better learning environment for our students.
  • We held our first Ignite program for students. They engaged in worship, small groups, and spiritual formation activities, and we look forward to seeing this discipleship opportunity continue to grow.

Emma is a mother who has carried many responsibilities for her family through difficult seasons. For a long time, she relied on casual work such as laundry, vending, and gardening. The income was inconsistent, and it was often difficult to meet her household’s daily needs.

During a home visit, MOHI social workers learned more about Emma’s situation and began walking alongside her family. They encouraged her to join a savings group, where she learned to save regularly and access small loans. With this support, Emma started a small food business and gradually expanded what she offered to customers.

Over time, the business helped Emma provide more consistently for her family. Her children have been able to attend school regularly, and the family has also become more connected with the church.

Emma’s story reflects the steady growth that can take shape when families receive encouragement, practical support, and spiritual community.

A different name has been used to honor privacy.

  • Pray for financial provision for parents so they can support their children and care for their families.
  • Pray that community members will have a deeper hunger for the Word of God.
  • Pray for good health for our staff members and their families.

As you read about how God is working, please consider sending a message of encouragement to your sponsored child through the MOHI mobile app or through your online sponsor account. Your words can remind them that someone is praying for them, cheering them on, and grateful to be part of their journey.
