Mark Bwire
Head Teacher, Namarei
Dennis is a student at Namarei who grew up in a pastoralist community where school was not always the expected path for children. Before he entered the classroom, he spent much of his time helping with livestock. His mother wanted a different opportunity for him and chose to enroll him in school, even though he was older than many of his classmates.
The transition was not easy. At first, Dennis struggled to adjust to a new routine. He often missed school, found it hard to concentrate, and had difficulty relating well to other students. His teachers continued walking with him patiently, helping him understand the importance of discipline, respect, and learning alongside others.
Over time, Dennis began to settle into school life. He is now more focused in class, participates more consistently, and is making steady academic progress. He has also grown in how he interacts with his classmates and teachers.
Dennis now dreams of becoming a teacher. He hopes to support his family and encourage other children who face difficult beginnings. His growth is still unfolding, and we thank God for the progress taking shape in his life.
