Regina Mumo Muthama
Head Teacher, Marsabit Senior School
Leah is a senior school student from a pastoralist community in Marsabit County. She has grown up in a family that works hard to provide for their children, even while facing limited and inconsistent income opportunities.
In her community, some girls face pressure to leave school early. After connecting with MOHI staff, Leah’s parents chose a different path and supported her education. From her first days in school, Leah loved learning. Even when reading and writing in English were difficult, she continued working hard and hoped her education would one day help her family and community.
During her school journey, Leah went through a difficult and sensitive season that caused her to step away from school for a time. MOHI staff followed up with care, helped ensure she was safe, and walked alongside her and her family with support. Her parents also continued to encourage her.
Leah later returned to school, where teachers and social workers continued to support her. Today, she is continuing her education, growing in her Christian faith, and looking toward the future with renewed hope. She hopes to become a nutritionist and help families in her community learn healthy practices.
Please keep praying for Leah and her family as she continues learning, growing, and pursuing the opportunities before her.
A different name has been used to honor privacy.
As you read about how God is working, please consider sending a message of encouragement to your sponsored child through the MOHI mobile app or through your online sponsor account. Your words can remind them that someone is praying for them, cheering them on, and grateful to be part of their journey.
