Greetings from Kosovo!

Praise God! We are excited and thankful to the Lord for sufficient grace, provision, and faithfulness upon the community, parents, and students we serve in Kosovo. Here are some of the highlights of this term. We highly appreciate your continuous prayers, partnership, and support.

Hope Transforms: A Success Story

Peter* and June* are married and have lived in the Mathare Kosovo community since 2009. They are raising three children, all of whom attend MOHI schools. The family also supports a relative who is currently in college.

Peter works as a casual laborer on construction sites, while June previously worked as a house help. They lived in a small, one-room iron-sheet house for 11 years. The family attended a local church in Kosovo.

Mercy* is their first-born daughter, she joined Kosovo School in Grade 4 and graduated from high school in 2018. She is currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Education at a university, with financial support from MOHI.

While at MOHI, Mercy’s leadership skills were nurtured and she has since become a strong leader, serving as a member of the school student council and volunteering as a social worker for MOHI. She is also an active member of her local church, teaching Sunday school and mentoring teenagers.

June, Mercy's mother was also positively impacted by MOHI’s values and programs. She was encouraged by their social worker to take advantage of the programs at MOHI. She attended MOHI's Technical Training Institute and graduated as a dressmaker in 2017. She was given a sewing machine after her course and now she uses her skills to repair clothes and generate income for the family. This has given lots of hope to the family as they can now cater to their needs.

MOHI has played a significant role in the transformation of this family. We are grateful for the impact we have made on Mercy and her family.

  • We thank God for 129 sixth-grade students who successfully completed important national tests in preparation for junior secondary school in 2025.

  • We are excited for the newly elected student leadership council. We wish them the best as they lead their fellow students in the new year.

  • We celebrate the 95 kindergarten students who graduated and will be entering first grade in 2025. The students and parents were excited about this important milestone.

  • It was exciting to have the Christ’s Church of the Valley team training our staff on how to care for children with special needs. The staff gained knowledge and skills on how to serve and handle children and community members who are differently gifted.

  • Africa Fire Mission visited our school to conduct a fire safety assessment. They also took us through a fire drill in the event a fire broke out in the school.

  • Please pray that God will provide for the families we serve.

  • Please pray for the protection and safety of all our students during the long holiday and that they will return safely in 2025.

  • Thank God for another year of His blessings.
