Greetings from Kiamaiko!
Receive greetings from Kiamaiko Center! We are grateful for your support and prayers throughout this first term. It is a joy to share a few highlights from the ways students are learning, growing, and being encouraged through the hope of Christ.

Head Teacher, Kiamaiko Center
Edwin is a father who has walked through seasons of loss and uncertainty while continuing to care for his family. After the death of his wife, he carried the daily responsibility of providing for his young son while trying to find steady work.
During a home visit, a MOHI social worker learned that Edwin’s son was often staying home during the school day because the family was facing financial strain. Staff followed up with Edwin, listened to his situation, and encouraged him as he considered the next step for his child. His son was later enrolled at MOHI’s Kiamaiko Center, where he began learning, building friendships, and enjoying the rhythm of school.
As Edwin continued attending school meetings, he learned about MOHI Capital Ltd., a financial services initiative under MOHI that provides microloans to help families within the communities we serve. He joined a peer group where members prayed together, encouraged one another, and received entrepreneurship training. Over time, he secured a loan and started his own shoe-selling business, which has helped him provide more consistently for his family.
Through regular visits and encouragement from a social worker and pastor, Edwin also began growing spiritually. He gave his life to Christ, joined a local church, and is now pursuing theological studies to deepen his understanding of God’s Word.
Today, Edwin and his son are continuing to move forward with support around them. His son is growing in school, and Edwin is taking faithful steps as a father, business owner, and follower of Christ. We thank God for the ways this family is being strengthened over time.

As you read about how God is working, please consider sending a message of encouragement to your sponsored child through the MOHI mobile app or through your online sponsor account. Your words can remind them that someone is praying for them, cheering them on, and grateful to be part of their journey.
