Hope Transforms: A Success Story

Jerry* is in Grade 5 at Kariobangi Center. He was once known as a challenging student. His parents found him rude and difficult to manage even at home. Jerry found it difficult to follow instructions. His parents felt overwhelmed by his behavior and even at one point considered letting him drop out of school.

His parents talked with their family social worker who had also talked to his teachers and they all knew that something had to be done. With the guidance and counseling of his social worker and his teachers, Jerry’s behavior began to change. Now Jerry has undergone a remarkable transformation. He has improved academically and has become more engaged in his faith, leading scripture readings and reciting memory verses at church. His parents are now receiving positive reports about his progress, and he has developed a love for school.

  • We are very proud of our music club. They participated in the National Music Festivals, qualified for the national competition, and placed fifth. Well done to our talented musicians!

  • We are also proud of our kindergarten students who graduated this term. Our students will be joining Grade 1 in the new year. They celebrated this milestone with a graduation ceremony at our school.

  • Africa Fire Mission visited our Center this term. They conducted a fire safety assessment as well as a fire drill to prepare our staff and students in the event of a fire.
