Greetings from Kangagetei!

Greetings from Kangagetei Center. We are grateful to God for another completed term, and for the ways students continued to learn, worship, and grow.

Thank you for your partnership and prayers as we walk alongside students and families through Christ-centered, holistic ministry. We are glad to share a few highlights from this term.

  • Students participated in the county athletics competition, and two advanced to the next level to compete with inter-county teams. We are proud of their effort and growth.
  • Three Grade 7 students participated in the junior secondary science symposium. One student emerged as the winner and received a trophy.
  • The Christian Union choir participated in inter-school choir competitions and was recognized as the best choir. This was a meaningful opportunity for students to grow in confidence and use their gifts.

Mary is a student who has grown up in a family carrying many responsibilities with limited resources. For a long time, access to consistent education was difficult, and the family also faced challenges related to food security and relational strain at home.

During home visits, MOHI social workers connected with Mary’s family and encouraged her parents to enroll her in school. Through the support from MOHI’s Kangagetei Center, Mary began receiving education, daily meals, spiritual encouragement, and access to health services. Her family has also continued to receive guidance and counseling from MOHI staff as they work toward greater stability together.

As Mary settled into school, she became especially drawn to the spiritual development programs. Her parents and older siblings also became more engaged in her education and well-being, which encouraged her along the way. Over time, Mary became more settled at school and made strong progress in her studies.

Today, Mary is known as a disciplined student with a growing desire to serve her community in the future. Her family has also become active in a local church, and her parents have made personal commitments to follow Christ. Mary shared, “When I grow up and become a doctor, my community will never be the same again.”

Mary’s story is still unfolding, but we thank God for the growth taking shape in her life and family.

A different name has been used to honor privacy.
