Hope Transforms: A Success Story
Jude* is an orphan and a Grade 3 student at the Missions of Hope Kangagetei Center. As young as he is, life has already taught him what it means to go without: without parents, without enough food, and sometimes without hope.
After losing his parents, Jude went to live with his elderly grandmother. She loves him deeply but struggles to provide for them both. With no steady income, some days they weren’t sure if they would have even one meal. Their tiny home was far from the local school, and often, Jude would stay at the school from the first day of the term until closing day. For him, school was more than a place to learn; it was home.
Everything began to change when Jude joined MOHI. The constant access to regular meals brought joy and stability to his days. Now he focuses on his studies without worrying about his next meal. His health has improved, his smile has returned, and his confidence is shining brighter every day. Today, Jude is among the top students in his class. He loves writing letters to his sponsor and looks forward to their encouraging messages. Being chosen among many made him feel special and wanted; it changed his whole life.
His grandmother has not been left out either. Through regular visits and counseling from our social workers, she has learned important sanitation practices and found small casual jobs that help sustain their household. She delights in knowing that Jude is in a school that truly cares for him.
Today, Jude has peace of mind, knowing that both he and his grandmother have renewed hope. He studies hard with the determination of a brighter future. Their once uncertain home is now filled with joy, laughter, and the hope of Christ.
We thank God for this family’s transformation, and we can’t wait to see how their story continues to unfold.
