Greetings from Joska!
Greetings from Joska Center! Another school term has come to a close, and we are grateful to share a few highlights with you. Thank you for your continued support and prayers as students, families, staff, churches, and ministry partners participate together in what God is doing in this community.

Head Teacher, Joska
- We organized a soccer tournament for schools around the Joska area. Our students won the tournament and were awarded trophies. The competition gave students a chance to develop their talents, build teamwork, and enjoy healthy physical activity.
- We held a weekend challenge, a weekend of worship services and spiritual encouragement, where students had dedicated time for prayer, counseling, and biblical teaching.
- Our scouts participated in this year’s Foundree Conference and also attended a three-day camp. These activities helped them grow in leadership, teamwork, and discipline.
- Twenty-two church members attended a men’s gathering and training on family stewardship. The training encouraged participants to lead and care for their families with greater wisdom.
- Forty young people attended a youth retreat and worship experience, where they were encouraged in life skills and strengthened in their spiritual identity.
- We held 11 discipleship classes with strong participation from junior school and high school students. Topics included salvation, prayer, and reading the Bible as part of growing in Christ-like identity.
- During the weekend challenge, more than 1,000 students were ministered to through prayer, counseling, and encouragement. We thank God that 45 students chose to follow Jesus.
- A team from Eastside Christian Church in Fullerton, California, served alongside the Joska medical team as they cared for students and community members.
- Several ministry partners visited the center, joined church services, toured the school, and spent time encouraging students.
- A ministry partner and family joined a Wednesday evening chapel service and met with their sponsored students.
- A team from Monmouth visited and spent meaningful time with our students.
- Another ministry partner and friends visited this term and saw the ongoing work taking place in Joska.
Teddy is a student who has walked through a deeply difficult season after the loss of a parent and major changes in his family. During that time, he carried grief and uncertainty while his family and community worked to support one another through a challenging situation.
When MOHI staff learned more about the family’s circumstances, they began walking alongside Teddy and his caregivers with encouragement and follow-up. Through the support of relatives, community members, church members, and MOHI staff, Teddy was able to return to school and continue pursuing his education.
The road has not been simple. Teddy is still learning to process the loss he experienced, and he continues to need prayer and support. Even so, he is growing in confidence and responsibility. He attends school faithfully and has taken on leadership as a class president.
Today, Teddy’s story is not defined only by hardship. It reflects courage, care from many people around him, and the hope that can continue to grow as he moves forward with God’s help.

- Pray for continued growth in our school’s academic performance.
- Pray for partnerships that help more students receive sponsorship.
As you read about how God is working, please consider sending a message of encouragement to your sponsored child through the MOHI mobile app or through your online sponsor account. Your words can remind them that someone is praying for them, cheering them on, and grateful to be part of their journey.
