Hope Transforms: A Success Story

*Mark is a cheerful-looking boy in Grade 4 at our school. He joined the school this year in January. He lives with both parents. The father runs a motorbike transport business, and the mother is a housewife. Often, Mark would complain of feeling unwell while in school due to frequent headaches, stomach pain and general tiredness, which caused inconsistent school attendance. This pattern continued for weeks, affecting his studies.

At first, the teachers thought Mark might be struggling with health issues. Several medical checks were done, and the results showed he was physically fine. This raised even more questions. He continued complaining, and his truancy became more frequent. Our social worker engaged him, and during their conversation, he discovered that Mark was struggling emotionally. He felt overwhelmed and out of place.

Determined to support Mark, the social worker visited his home and had a heartfelt conversation with his parents. Together, they found out that Mark needed more emotional encouragement, support, and a consistent routine to help him adjust to school life. The parents were cooperative and agreed to work closely with the school to help Mark change.

With the combined efforts of the social worker, teachers, and his family, Mark began to experience a turnaround. Slowly, he started attending school regularly, engaging with his classmates, and actively participating in lessons.

Within a few months, Mark’s academic performance improved significantly. He became more confident, happier, and hopeful. Today, he is one of the most active members in Grade 4, and his story stands as an inspiration to other children. His story reminds us that every child deserves to be heard, understood, and guided through their challenges.

At MOHI, every child matters, and Mark is a living proof of the power of compassion, patience, and teamwork. We thank God for the transformation witnessed so far in Mark's life.
