Greetings from Bishop Dan K'Ogembo!

Hello. We are grateful for the God given opportunity to continue serving our Nyakach community. The Lord has been faithful for this long period in school. Our students are excited to keep getting these rare opportunities in MOHI through your support. Here are our term highlights.

Hope Transforms: A Success Story

John* is a Grade 8 student and comes from a family of five. Although his parents are present, they are currently separated. He joined our school in January 2024 in Grade 7 and began the year with high self-esteem and great enthusiasm. This was short lived because by the third term, there was a shift in his behavior. After making regular home visits and discussing more with the family, we discovered that John had developed a deep desire to reconnect with his father, who works in Nairobi, a desire that his mother did not support. This conflict of interest affected John’s motivation. He started losing interest in school, missing classes and neglected school work.

After a lengthy talk with the family and offering guidance and counselling to John, he began to rethink his actions and decisions. Now, he attends school regularly, actively participates in class and completes class assignments. He is also active both academically and in extracurricular activities.

We pray for healing and unity in his family, believing that a supportive home environment will help him continue to thrive both in school and in life.
