Greetings from Bishop Dan K'Ogembo!

Hello! Greetings in Jesus’ name. We bless the Lord for this opportunity to continue serving children in different capacities. Students are excited and all are enjoying the learning environment. Thank you for your continued support as we serve the people of the Nyakach area. Here are some of the highlights of the second term of the year.

Hope Transforms: A Success Story

Joyline* lives with her grandmother, who became her guardian after her mother deserted Joyline when she was six months old. When Joyline was enrolled in kindergarten in January 2023, she could barely express herself in either Kiswahili or English, only speaking her mother tongue, Dholuo. However, she has since transformed remarkably and now speaks fluently in both English and Kiswahili. This progress has also positively impacted her grandmother, as Joyline has become her teacher at home.

Whenever their social worker visits her at home, they communicate well in Kiswahili, which wasn’t possible before. Joyline can also read the Bible well, which has deepened her spiritual life. She can pray and share the word of God with others.

  • We are so glad to report that our students participated in the Kenya Primary School Sports Association competitions. Our students qualified up to the county level.

  • Our students participated in the inter-MOHI schools spelling bee and public speaking competition at the regional level. The outstanding ones will be proceeding to the finals in Nairobi together with other MOHI schools.
  • Grade 3, 4, 5 and 7 students are currently working on their class practical tests for a national test coming up. We wish them the very best on their project assignments.

  • A medical team from Christ’s Church of the Valley visited us and did a school screening, where they gave our students a medical check up, ensuring that our little ones are healthy and that any issues are addressed.

  • Pray for the safety of our school and the protection of all its resources.
Pray for the security of our students and staff members at all times.
Pray that God will continue to provide for our children’s families in these difficult economic times.
