Greetings from Baba Dogo!

Glory to God for His faithfulness throughout this term. It has been a meaningful season of learning, worship, discipleship, and community care at Baba Dogo. Thank you for your continued prayers and partnership as students and families are encouraged through Christ-centered, holistic ministry.

  • Preschool students took part in the MOHI Olympic Games organized by the Spiritual Development Department, where they had the opportunity to share their talents and abilities.
  • Grade 6 students attended Angaza Discovery Camp, a two-week discipleship camp experience at the Kenyan coast for students in a key season of spiritual growth.
  • The school community held a Synergy Sunday service, a joint worship gathering that brought together MOHI staff, community members, students, and families for fellowship and encouragement in God’s Word.

  • Students participated in a vibrant Ignite gathering, a MOHI discipleship program for primary school students. Several students made personal decisions to follow Christ and were joyfully encouraged by their peers.
  • A music therapy event provided children with disabilities with individualized attention through songs, dances, and guitar-led engagement.
  • Parent and student counseling was offered to support families and help nurture a holistic learning environment for students.
  • Staff visited families of children with disabilities, prayed with them, and offered encouragement and social support.

  • A team from Valley Christian High School visited this term and conducted a VBS for more than 400 students, focusing on God’s character and provision. Students participated in lessons, music, dance, science, sports, and games. The team also joined staff for 53 home visits, where they shared God’s Word with families.
  • A ministry partner visited and conducted a VBS for parents of children with special needs. They also joined several home visits, blessed parents with food baskets, and helped purchase equipment for the special-needs therapy room. These acts of care encouraged students and their families.
  • Another ministry partner participated in home visits and provided food baskets to families. Through these visits, families were encouraged and reminded of the love of Christ.

David has been part of the MOHI community since he was a young child. Those who know him describe him as a student with perseverance, a growing love for school, and a desire to move forward despite the painful challenges he has experienced.

During his childhood, David walked through deep family loss and instability. As he tried to process grief and adjust to changing circumstances, he began missing school and became disconnected from the support he needed. Concerned for his safety and well-being, MOHI social workers, the school chaplain, teachers, and local partners worked together to find him, listen to him, and help him begin rebuilding trust.

David shared that he felt unloved, uncared for, and unsure of his purpose. Through counseling, prayer, and steady encouragement, he began to hear a different message: that his life has value and that he was not alone. Staff continued walking alongside him as he considered returning to school.

After another painful loss in his family, MOHI staff looked for a setting where David could receive more consistent care and support. He was transferred to a MOHI boarding school, where he found greater stability, became involved in school life, and began to thrive. Basketball became one of his favorite activities, and he continued growing academically and spiritually.

Over time, David has shown a consistent love for school. He has continued into secondary education and is doing well. He is growing in confidence, responsibility, and determination. We thank God for the ways David has been strengthened through ongoing care, trusted relationships, and opportunities to keep learning and growing.

A different name has been used to honor privacy.
